Miami, FL (Sports Network) - Miami Heat center Zydrunas Ilgauskas exercised his $1.4 million option for the 2011-12 season on Wednesday. After joining the reconstructed Heat prior to last season, Ilgauskas started 51 games for Miami, averaging career lows in points (5.0), rebounds (4.0) and minutes (15.9). The 20th overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1996 NBA draft, Ilgauskas failed to appear in the final 12 Heat postseason games after starting eight of the first nine.
