Heat deal Cook to Thunder, swap first-round picks

Basketball Betting Lines

06/23/2010 - Miami, FL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Miami Heat have traded guard Daequan Cook and the 18th overall pick in the 2010 draft to the Oklahoma City Thunder for the 32nd overall pick.

The deal clears cap space for the Heat as Cook is reportedly due close to $2.2 million next season. A three-year veteran out of Ohio State, Cook is known mostly as a three-point threat but saw his playing time dwindle last year.

The 23-year-old is two years removed from shooting 38.7 percent from long distance with 153 threes and a 9.1 points per game average over 75 contests.

However, Cook saw time in just 45 games last season and logged 15.4 minutes per appearance compared with averaging 24.4 minutes a year earlier. His three- point shooting percentage dipped to 31.7 percent with 40 makes and a 5.0 scoring average in 2009-10.

The Thunder, meanwhile, have positioned themselves with three first-round picks in Friday's draft with the 18th, 21st and 26th selections.
